An Open Letter to the Leaders of the World

Launching from New York – Coach Leonardo University

At this very moment, while leaders gather at the United Nations to discuss the most pressing issues of our time, Artificial Intelligence is silently reshaping our world faster than any previous technological revolution.

The stakes are high. AI has the potential to add $16 trillion to the global economy by 2030 (PwC), but it also carries unprecedented risks: algorithmic bias, systemic exclusion, security breaches, and governance failures that could destabilize economies and democracies alike.

The question is not if AI will transform humanity. It already has.

The question is:

Will this transformation be inclusive, responsible, and governed—or will it deepen inequality and erode trust?

$3.1 billion in regulatory fines were issued in 2023 for governance and compliance failures (EU Commission).
70% of AI projects in enterprises fail to move beyond pilot stage, often due to lack of governance, oversight, and strategic clarity (McKinsey).

Only 1 in 10 corporate boards feel prepared to oversee AI-related risks (Gartner, 2024).

77% of developing economies report no board-level AI training programs (World Economic Forum survey).

At the same time, over 80% of global AI education resources are concentrated in North America, Europe, and China, leaving Latin America, Africa, and much of Asia underprepared.

This imbalance is unsustainable.

Without intervention, AI will become a tool of exclusion—concentrated in the hands of a few governments and corporations—rather than a force for equity and human progress.

Global regulation is advancing:

  • EU AI Act (2024): mandates strict controls for high-risk AI.
  • ISO 42001 (AI Management System): introduces governance standards.
  • OECD AI Principles: endorsed by over 40 countries.

Yet most organizations—especially in emerging markets—lack the capacity to implement them. The gap is no longer about technology—it is about education, governance, and leadership.

The world is investing heavily in AI development. In 2023 alone:

  • $189 billion was spent on AI R&D and deployment globally (Stanford AI Index).
  • Less than 1% of that went to governance, ethics, or leadership education.

For the cost of a single failed AI pilot ($2.3M average loss per project, McKinsey), we could:

  • Fund 1,000 scholarships for emerging-market leaders.
  • Launch a digital learning hub reaching 50,000 people.
  • Train an entire national board ecosystem in AI governance and compliance.

The opportunity is clear: a fraction of today’s AI spending, redirected to governance education, could protect billions tomorrow.

Our Call to Action

1. To Philanthropists & Foundations

  • Commit $25 million over 5 years to scholarships for underrepresented regions (Latin America, Africa, Asia).
  • Support the creation of open-access AI governance resources for global learners.

2. To Governments

  • Dedicate at least 0.5% of national AI budgets to governance and leadership training.
  • Integrate AI governance certifications into public sector and board education.
  • Partner with institutions like Coach Leonardo University to create regional AI Governance Academies.

3. To Enterprises & Boards

  • Allocate 5% of AI project budgets to governance and board-level training.
  • Establish AI Ethics Committees with certified governance leaders.
  • Recognize that compliance is not enough—capacity building is survival.

4. To the United Nations & Global Bodies

  • Launch a UN-backed Global AI Governance Education Index, measuring equity of access.
  • Support international agreements to share governance best practices openly.
  • Champion inclusivity so that AI does not become a weapon of inequality.

Coach Leonardo University’s Commitment

At Coach Leonardo University, we are building the bridge between enterprise frameworks, governance standards, and human awakening.

Our commitments include:

  • 1,000+ leaders trained by 2026 in AI governance, sustainability, and enterprise transformation.
  • 10,000 scholarships delivered by 2030 to leaders in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
  • A Global Digital Hub to provide AI governance content to 50,000+ learners within three years.
  • Integration of ISO 42001, OECD AI Principles, and enterprise models (TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF) into every program.

This is not just technical education—it is about shaping conscious, responsible leadership for the AI era.
The AI era will not wait for us. Governance must move as fast as innovation, and education must be the foundation.

  • Without education, laws are unenforceable.
  • Without governance, innovation turns into chaos.
  • Without inclusivity, technology breeds inequality.

From New York to every capital city, from corporate boardrooms to village classrooms:
We call on leaders, philanthropists, governments, and enterprises to act.

Not tomorrow. Now.

The world will remember us not for the algorithms we built, but for the responsibility we embraced.
Let us democratize AI governance and education. Let us shape a future where no one is excluded.
With gratitude and resolve.
